Uwa Suleiman, new Spokesperson for Nigeria Ministry of Communications

The Honourable Minister of Communications, Dr. Ali Isa Ibrahim Pantami, has appointed Mrs. Uwa Suleiman as his spokesperson. Until her latest appointment, Mrs. Suleiman was the Assistant Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, at the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA).

According to a letter signed by the Minister, who was also until his appointment, the Director General of NITDA, Suleiman’s job takes immediate effect. Her appointment, the letter stated, was based on her track record and performance. Suleiman assumes duty on secondment to the ministry from the IT regulatory agency. Part of her brief would be perception and media management of the minister.

Suleiman, a graduate of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Kaduna, had worked at Daar Communications, owners of AIT and Raypower before joining the NITDA where she rose to become the agency’s spokesperson. “I seize this opportunity to give thanks to Almighty God who has preserved my life and brought me this far. My heartfelt gratitude to my late father who gave up everything to impact in me the best education money can buy and to instil the virtue of hard work in me.

My most and highest human gratitude goes to my boss, the Honourable Minister of Communications Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, who has deemed my very humble self, worthy of this appointment as his Spokesperson. Sir, the confidence reposed in me shall not be misplaced,” said an enthusiastic Suleiman in a Facebook post. She has extensive media and perception management skills and she is expected to bring this to bear in her new job role at the ministry.
