Glo Launches “Borrow Me Data”, Delights Customers with Re-Packaged Products

Globacom has launched Glo Borrow Me Data, and re-packaged three other existing products with more benefits.

According to Globacom in a press conference in Lagos “The four products offer first of its kind benefits in the Nigerian telecom industry, adding that the three other products including Double Free Tomorrow, 11k/s for All, and IDD Packs were re-packaged to consolidate their success in the market”.

Under Glo Borrow Me Data package, a total of 2GB Data credit is available for the subscribers to borrow whenever their data bundles are exhausted and they have no credit on their phones to recharge their data plan. This package also comes readily available in case of unsuccessful subscription when they run out of credit.

Mr. Sola Arowogbadamu, Globacom’s Head of Usage and Retention, speaking during the launch, said that subscribers will be eligible for consideration based on average monthly data usage and how long they have stayed on the network.

Subscription to Borrow Me Data can be activated by dialing *321#. Subscribers will immediately follow the menu options and the service will load eligible subscribers with real time Data credit while customers will repay the Data credit when next airtime recharges are made.

In the repackaged Double Free Tomorrow, subscribers receive 200% of whatever is spent on SMS, data and calls on the first day to use for free the next day.

Under the new offer, a subscriber is credited with double of the value of the airtime he used in the first day at the start of the next day. New customers activating a Glo line will, henceforth have direct access to double Free Tomorrow and they will now receive back, the following day, double the airtime used in a day for calls, internet browsing and SMS, the company said.

The bonus, according to Mr. Arowogbadamu can be used for browsing, calls, SMS to Glo and non-Glo lines as well as for International calls to countries such as US, UK (fixed), Canada, China and India.

Double Free Tomorrow plan can be accessed by new prepaid customers on the Glo network and other subscribers who desire good call package.

“With Glo Double Free Tomorrow, customers get back double benefits free the next day. In other words, when they spend more today, they get much more tomorrow. For instance, if a subscriber on the Glo network uses N500 credit in a day on calls, SMS and data, Glo will give back N1,000 credit to the subscriber the very next day to call all networks, SMS and browse free,” he stated. To enjoy the service, subscribers are to dial *600#.

On the third offer, 11k/s for All, Arowogbadamu described it as the number one prepaid plan in the Country, adding that customers on the plan will enjoy heavily discounted international and local call rates. At 11k /s, customers can make calls to local and over 30 international destinations including United Kingdom, United States, Canada, South Africa, India, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Israel and Australia. Others are Bangladesh, Brunei, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, French Guiana, Guam, Luxembourg, Malta, Mongolia, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Puerto Rico, Reunion Island, Romania and Singapore.

Globacom stated further that low call rates await new and existing customers who can migrate to the new plan, which comes with a daily access fee of N5 by dialing *211#.

Also, more benefits await customers who port from other networks to Glo. Apart from a welcome bonus of N500 Glo-Glo talk time and N500MB data upon the recharge of N500 or higher, they will also get 500MB complimentary data for the next six months after joining Glo, provided they use a minimum of N1, 500 monthly.

New IDD Packs was also unveiled by Globacom. Described as the best deal in the country, it allows subscribers in Nigeria to make calls to 30 major international destinations for as low as N6.60. The bundles which include IDD 100, IDD 200, IDD 500 and IDD 1,000 are designed to match the recharge denominations. While the IDD 100 gives the subscriber 12 minutes of call valid for 3 days, IDD 200 comes with 24 call minutes for 7 days. Others are IDD 500 bundle which offers 60 minutes of call for 14 days and IDD 1000 with 150 call minutes valid for 30 days.

Globacom said that 30 destinations including United States, United Kingdom, Canada, South Africa, India, China and Japan are covered by the new IDD packs.
